Christmas in August?
General — By Shannon Schmid on August 19, 2009 at 11:14 pmSo recently Molly has been having trouble taking naps. And to try to get her some much needed sleep, I’ve taken to driving her all over the city we live in. One benefit of this has been my learning the geography of the area a little better- and finding neat shops! And I accidentally found a doozy of a shop! It’s a decorators warehouse store full of Christmas decorations!!
It was 99 degrees outside, but inside I could have sworn it was a chilly December day! I strolled Molly around for over an hour. It made me want to sing Christmas carols and drink hot cider! I can’t wait for the holiday season now! There was even a section devoted to Halloween paraphernalia- I have so many decorating ideas I need to start working on!
The whole thing just put me in a great mood, so I took some snapshots and thought I’d share them with you all. Click on the photos for a closer look.
Enjoy, and have a merry Christmas rest of the summer!

Wow! Awesome, Cool! Hey I'm with Molly on the Elf on the shelf! Lovely piece, and the buffet it is on is not 1/2 bad either!
I love the holidays….they always bring with them the smell of good food, and cool weather. Makes me the happy camper!

My favorite thing about these pics is Molly's adorable little peace sign PJs!

Great blog! Love the photos, especially the one of Molly with Saint Nick, and also the one of "the elf on the shelf"… "gnome in the home"… "fairy on the prairie"? Molly will be old enough to understand the holidays better this year. But Mommy and Daddy better eat her Halloween candy, as she's still too young. Just as a service to her.

Oh.. that looks like such a fun store. When I was much younger we went on a holiday to Germany. There was a store there named Kathe Wohlfahrt that had christmas year round. You immediately got into the christmas spirit too. Even if we went, like you, in August.

Remember The Christmas House back home? I was just thinking of that the other day.
And some kids stop napping. I stopped at about 1. Good luck!

We celebrate Christmas in a different way here
We do not have any Santa Claus here so that my daughter, Asha, can not have any picture with him. What a lovely Molly. She has a beautiful smile. Send my hugs for her. How old is she? Well, my daughter is two years old already.
